Our Sunday Night Dances
Our weekly dance event takes place every Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. on the dance floor of Rancho Bernardo Swim and Tennis Club, located at 16955 Bernardo Oaks Drive. Doors open at 5:45 p.m., dancing starts at 6, and we usually break for refreshments around 7:30. We hope to see you this coming Sunday!
For Beginning Dancers
Our Beginners' Session starts promptly at 6 p.m. If it's your first time, or you need extra practice, please arrive right at 6 p.m. or just before, because we always start with the easiest dances. At this time all the figures and patterns are taught, and all the dances are walked through several times before we dance them with the music. You will learn several dance figures along the way, including heys, turn singles, casting, pousettes, and more; experienced dancers are always available to help. Please wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes.
Special discount for beginners: when you pay for your first dance with us, you will receive a coupon for attending your second dance free of charge!
Please note: We have some members who are sensitive to heavy fragrances. In consideration of our members, please refrain from using strong-smelling perfumes, colognes, and aftershaves when preparing for the dance.
Admission Schedule
- Sunday night rate is $6 per night for a regular class (local caller and recorded music).
- Sunday night rate is $10 per night for live music and/or guest caller.
- A dancer who arrives late to the Sunday night dance will still pay the full amount.
- Children under 18 pay $2.
- All children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. They may not be left at the dance unattended.
- College students with ID pay 1/2 the adult price according to the schedule above.

Special Events
Ball Practices: Ellie and Ellen will be teaching the dances. Music will be provided by Ryan Sandburg. Venue is Christ Lutheran Church, 4761 Cass Street, San Diego, CA. 92109, Pacific Beach area. Dancing starts at 3:30 pm and ends at 6:30 pm. $12.00 at the door.
May Faire Ball 2018: Saturday, May 5th at the Soledad Club. This year's caller will be Alisa Dodson, with music by Ladies At Play. Check the website The San Diego Ball.
Our Dance Location
Our Sunday night dances take place at Rancho Bernardo Swim and Tennis Club (sign pictured), located at 16955 Bernardo Oaks Drive, Rancho Bernardo 92128, on the north side of Rancho Bernardo Road between Bernardo Oaks Drive and Pomerado Road.
From the north or south: Take Exit 24 from the I-15 south- or northbound to Rancho Bernardo Road. Head east on Rancho Bernardo Road for about one mile to Pomerado Road. Turn left on Pomerado Road and head north; make a U-turn at the first opportunity, and enter the parking lot at the driveway just south of the Rancho Bernardo Community Church. Parking Information
The Management of Rancho Bernardo Swim and Tennis Club have asked that we start parking in the overflow lot on Rancho Bernardo Road and Pomerado Road. The linked photo shows where to park and the location of the new gate. Push the button on the intercom box on the gate and say you are a dancer to be buzzed in.
Please note: People who are handicapped or carrying in heavy equipment for the dance may continue to park in the lot located just off Bernardo Oaks Drive. See this aerial photo for a view of the Club's parking facilities.
